Operation Christmas Child

Samaritan’s Purse is an international relief ministry led by Franklin Graham.  It provides support for veterans, healthcare, career development, and food for families around the world.

Another aspect of their ministry is Operation Christmas Child.  This effort collects shoebox gifts for children around the world as an expression of God’s love.  The gift is not the items in the box, but instead the Gospel that is told to each child that receives a box.  In 2020, Hermitage Hills packed 500 boxes (virtually and physically).  This is 500 opportunities for the Gospel to bring lifechange to a child!

You can pick up a box in the library or in the foyer.  Packed boxes need to be returned by November 21st.  You can also pack a box virtually.  Our virtual packing page can be found HERE.

This year (November 2021), we were a Drop Off Site so that our community could bring their filled shoeboxes for us to deliver to the Central Drop Off Site.  We had an amazing week.  There were 3,778 filled shoeboxes dropped off at Hermitage Hills.  We had 47 people volunteer to help collect, count, crate, load in the truck, and unload at the Central Drop Off Site.  We are so excited to be able to serve our community in this capacity.  Each box dropped off is an opportunity for those around the world to hear the Gospel.  We will be a Drop Off Site in 2022.  If you would like to help in some way, please fill out the form below.
