The November 28 fires in Sevier County took 14 lives, left 160 people injured, and destroyed or damaged 2,800 structures including three Tennessee Baptist churches. Baptist disaster relief volunteers from Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Kentucky coodinated by Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief assisted 253 families who were fire victims.

Our very own Distaster Relief Team, headed up by Don Kohanski, has been to the area several different times to serve. This last time included major tree removal. While exhasusted from the work, we give thanks and praise to God for our strength and abilities.
