Associate Pastor

Hermitage Hills Baptist Church is searching for an associate pastor to lead their adult ministry, oversee adult assimilation, assist the Lead Pastor with pastoral care, and implement the Lead Pastor’s vision. Located on the east side of Nashville, Hermitage Hills is strategically situated within driving distance of thousands of families. The church has a long history of reaching its community for Christ through outreach and prioritizing the next generation. In recent years, the church made a multimillion-dollar investment in the next generation by building a dedicated space for children and students. Since the fall of 2023, the church has experienced significant growth in baptisms and attendance, as well as become debt free. The new associate pastor will play a pivotal role in stewarding the growth of the church and helping to set the foundation for the future.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the adult ministry: adult LIFEgroups; Wednesday night adult discipleship classes; men’s and women’s ministry; and senior adult ministry.
  • Oversee adult assimilation: guest engagement and follow-up process; decisions for Christ followup process; membership follow-up process; new believer discipleship; new member class; enlisting and equipping adults to serve in ministry.
  • Assist the Lead Pastor with pastoral care: counseling, funerals, weddings, benevolence requests.
  • Implement the Lead Pastor’s vision: take the lead on special projects, the launching of new initiatives, and other needs in the church as requested by the Lead Pastor.
  • Recruit, train, and lead adult volunteers in adult ministry and adult assimilation.
  • Manage some direct reports.

Education/Experience

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Some form of theological training.
  • Has led in a growing and healthy church.
  • Has identified and developed leaders.
  • Has created, implemented, and managed systems and processes.
  • Has managed direct reports.
