Collection Week is coming

November 13-20, 2023 is collection week for Operation Christmas Child.  Hermitage Hills Baptist Church is a Drop Off Site again this year.  The hours we are open for shoebox drop off are below:

Monday, November 13 - 4:00-6:00 pm

Tuesday, November 14 - 4:00-6:00 pm

Wednesday, November 15 - 4:00-6:00 pm

Thursday, November 16 - 10:00-noon

Friday, November 17 - 10:00-noon

Saturday, November 18 - 12:30-3:30 pm

Sunday, November 19 - 12:30-3:30 pm

Monday, November 20 - 7:30-9:30 am

Central Drop Off site on Monday, November 20, from 12:00-4:00 pm.

We will need volunteers for each day to greet, unload shoeboxes, carton shoeboxes, and check paperwork.  If you are will to serve, please fill out the form below.

 

Samaritan’s Purse is an international relief ministry led by Franklin Graham.  It provides support for veterans, healthcare, career development, and food for families around the world.

Another aspect of their ministry is Operation Christmas Child.  This effort collects shoebox gifts for children around the world as an expression of God’s love.  The gift is not the items in the box, but instead the Gospel that is told to each child that receives a box.  In 2022, Hermitage Hills collected 612 boxes.  This is 612 opportunities for the Gospel to be shared with a child!

 

In November 2022, we were also a Drop Off Site and Central Drop Off Site.  This allowed our community to bring their filled shoeboxes to us.  At the end of collection week, we had six churches from Middle Tennessee bring all the shoeboxes they had collected to us.  We filled 2 and a half semi trucks with 12,498 shoeboxes.  What an amazing week!  We had 49 people volunteer to help collect, count, crate, and load the truck.  We are so excited to be able to serve our community in this capacity.  Each box dropped off is an opportunity for those around the world to hear the Gospel.
