MISSIONS EMPHASIS 2023

During November, we emphasize the ways we have and will engage missions through Hermitage Hills!

At Hermitage Hills Baptist Church, we love to celebrate what God has done through missions.  So, we take time in November to give updates on what our mission areas have seen God do and give information on ways that you can step into missions in the coming year.

All can participate.  Whether you are in the room or worshipping with us online, a preschooler or active adult, married or single, new to missions or a seasoned server, there is a place for you to step in and connect.  So, mark your calendars and plan to participate in all the activities as we see to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."

PRAY

Join us as we pray for missions through Hermitage Hills.  You can find the prayer guide at the mission's wall off the main foyer and in the downloads below.

ENGLISH CLASSES

We will have three classes on Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 7:30 pm for beginners, intermediate and advanced students.  Our classes are currrently full, but we have more students that would like to attend.  You can serve as a lead teacher, class helper, snack room host, or greeter.  If you would like to serve, contact Brigitte at bsimpson@hermitagehills.com.

RADICAL HEART

We continue to serve our community through Radical Heart each week on Wednesday nights from 6:00 - 7:30 pm and Thursday mornings from 10:00 - 11:30 pm.  We can use your help.  We are serving as many as 80 families per week and need volunteers to help us host them well.  You can help prepare food boxes in the pantry, load boxes into guests' cars, pray with guests or help guests shop for clothing.  We are also distributing 100 Thanksgiving food boxes on Saturday, November 11th.  If you are interested in volunteering on a weekly basis or on November 11th, please contact Brenda at bkirk@hermitagehills.com.

ROOM IN THE INN

Room in the Inn provides a place for people to stay the night during the months of November through March. Hermitage Hills hosts men on Wednesday nights. We provide a hot dinner, cots with bedding, breakfast, a sack lunch for Thursday and transportation to and from the Room in the Inn facility downtown. Most importantly though we provide fellowship and conversation that points to Christ. You can serve in many ways through providing meal items, hosting the meal, driving the van, staying the night as an innkeeper, and helping to launder linens.  If you would like to be part of this ministry, click HERE to sign up.

MISSIONS CONNECT

November 5th and 12th, there will be a Missions Connect set up in the main foyer.  All mission opportunities through Hermitage Hills will be represented.  This is a great way to learn more about how to step into missions through Hermitage Hills Baptist Church so plan to come through before and/or after service both weeks.

MISSIONS HANDS ON EXPERIENCE

Celebrating missions wouldn't be complete without us giving you an opportunity to participate in a hands on experience.  We will have three oppotunities for you to participate in before and/or after the service.  On November 5th, we will pack the Christmas food bags for Radical Heart and put the cartons together for Operation Christmas Child.  On November 12th, we will pack medical bags for Metanoia Ukraine.  These opportunities will be set up in the hallways beside the Worship Center.

WOMEN ON MISSION

Join us as we meet on Wednesday, November 8, from 10:00 am to noon in the Gathering Place (you will enter at door 1).  We will participate in a hands-on activity as we prepare Advent Boxes for the Preschool/Children and Radical Heart ministries.  All women are welcome!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD DROP OFF SITE

Hermitage Hills Baptist Church is a drop off site for area individuals, families, churches, and organizations to bring their filled Operation Christmas Child boxes.  We will also be a central drop off location for drop off sites to bring their cartons.  Each box collected is an expression of God's love for the child and an opportunity for the Gospel to be shared.  We anticipate collecting 6,000 boxes.  This is about 800 boxes more than last year. We need volunteers to host so that we can provide a welcoming, active, encouraging, and efficient experience for those dropping off.

National Collection Week is November 13-20.  We have opportunities to serve each day (times vary).  Click HERE to see where you can step into this mission opportunity.
