UPDATE:

The church is following guideline recommendations and because of that we have cancelled all events on the church calendar until further notice. The Church office will work from home beginning on Wednesday, March 18. Emails for staff can be found on the staff page. We will keep up with the world events as they unfold. If you are in need, please email the church office at receptionist@hermitagehills.com and someone will follow up.

We are praying for all.

Watch for any additional changes on Social Media or Website.

Hermitage Hills Family,

In the busyness of this week and an increasing amount of discussion surrounding COVID-19 in the news, we want you to know how Hermitage Hills is monitoring the issue and explain the precautions we’re taking to keep your family safe. As we make our own plans, we encourage you to heed the advice of the CDC and US State Departments’ travel watches, alerts, and warnings, and to take common sense precautions in daily life. Our staff is carefully monitoring the situation, and we want to be proactive in planning to serve our community in the days ahead.

What We’re Doing

According to the CDC, the simple and practical hygiene that prevents the transmission of regular bugs is just as effective at preventing the spread of coronavirus (which causes COVID-19).

Our staff and facilities team are implementing an extra layer of cleaning and sanitizing precautions. That includes increasing our cleaning schedules and procedures, disinfecting commonly touched surfaces, and applying an extra layer of detail to our kid’s areas and classrooms.

We are also going to strictly enforce our “Well-Child Policy” which is posted by the check in computers.  Parent’s please do not check in your child if they are showing any of the posted symptoms.  If a child begins to appear sick, they will be removed from the room and parents will be called immediately to go home.

Hermitage Hills Kids Ministry volunteers will be required to read over our “Sanitation and Hygiene Polices” before they go into their classrooms to ensure proper procedures are taking place.

Our connect team will change the way we greet our guests and we will pause “shaking hands” during the greeting time in the worship service. Think of waving, smiles and nods instead of handshakes.

****What It Means for You

Everyone can worship with us every Sunday on hermitagehills.com/live and on our Facebook Page. We want to continue to help you grow and pray with you, even if you can’t attend in person.

If you’re a regular giver at Hermitage Hills, please continue to give either in-person, online, or with a text message. Your continued generosity is a vital resource that enables us to continue our LIFE mission on a weekly basis.

Our Missions Team is currently monitoring mission’s activity. We’re also in regular contact with our missionaries in affected regions, and we’re monitoring their needs and the impact on their work. As we gather information, we will send out how you can pray.

Further efforts to adapt our worship gatherings, our events, and our programs will be made if deemed necessary.

Help Us Love Our Community

One of the best ways to help us love our community during the spread of illness is simply to be a good neighbor. If you live beside or are in close contact with families who have high-risk individuals in their homes, reach out to see if they need anything. Maybe that means offering to pick up supplies on your next trip to the store or dropping off some food if they’re unable to get out. Simply look for ways that you can be salt and light in the coming weeks and commit to praying for our leaders and community.

Of course, a great way to help your neighbors is practicing common sense health routines yourself. Wash your hands regularly, use hand sanitizer after you touch shared surfaces, and stay home if you’re sick.

As followers of Jesus, we are called to be people of faith and not live in a spirit of fear. We all view these kinds of scenarios differently, so please have grace with one another. God is good, He’s faithful, and we know that He’s still at work all around us.  None of this has caught Him by surprise. Please commit to joining with us in prayer for God’s glory, sufficiency, protection, presence and peace to be known and experienced during this season.

Let’s continue to be the Church and walk with God together in the days ahead. We’ll keep you updated should our schedules and plans change in the coming weeks. Watch our website, social media, and look for updates through email.
