Putting Action Towards our Vision

by Poly Rouse

For the month January, we’ve been on a journey together concerning God’s vision for our lives and ministries.  Without a vision the people perish.  That means, the purposes of God slips right through their fingers.  Life if too short to be so busy with good things, that we miss the best things in life to encounter.  Partnering with God in His movement of LIFE Change is the greatest opportunity for any person.

At Hermitage Hills our vision is to see people experience LIFE Change through Jesus Christ.  Don't you just love how Jesus is all about change.  In fact, He said something in Matthew 18:3 similar to, unless you change and become like a child you cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven.  "This is how Jesus characterized conversion. Like the Beatitudes, it pictures faith as the simple, helpless, trusting dependence of those who have no resources of their own. Like children, they have no achievements and no accomplishments to offer or commend themselves with."(1) Jesus has always been about change.  Changing our hearts … changing our minds … changing our direction … and changing our focus.  Change and Jesus go together like peanut butter and jelly.

So, what is compelling you, in the next 11 months, to make a change in your community and beyond?  What would you want to implement where you work, play, and worship that would leave a lasting impression?  There’s no more time to delay.  It’s time to put prayers into action.  What do you sense in your “gut” that God is leading you to risk in order to see something that is not being seen as being seen until one day everyone sees it? Remember, that is our definition of a Biblical Vision.

Acts 18:9-10 “And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, ‘Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.’”

It's time to sit down, slow down, and allow the Spirit of Christ to settle on you as you write out your vision for 2017.

Please share with us you thoughts.  How is God moving in your life?  What are some of the elements in your vision that are pushing you to the edge of faith?  What are some of the steps you are taking to risk it all?
